Brynamman away

The new Ammanford youth team travelled the short distance to Brynamman for the first league game of the season.  The game was played in good autumn weather with Ammanford playing a flowing game attacking the Brynamman line from the get go.  The forwards started at a pace with Oliver Jenkins putting in the first big hit of the season.  From a move that went through 10 phases Ammanford were awarded a penalty in front of the posts that Dan Slattery put over Ammanford took an early 3-0 lead.  from the restart Ammanford again went on all out attack with the forwardsof Carwyn Morris, Sion Griffiths and Garin Criddle carrying well.After a number of phases scrumhalf Keiran Williams went over for the first try of the seson which was converted by Slattery. Ammanford10 Brynamman 0.  The game continued in this vain with the young ammanford side intent on scoring more tries and they were again rewarded with Dan Slattery cutting through the defance for Carwyn Morris to score and  Slattery converted.  Brynamman 0 Ammanford 17.  Shortly after Ammanford again crossed the white wash with Joe Parkin scoring in the corner and the conversiom was missed.  Ammanford now lead 22-0 however brynammn wouldnt give up and on the stroke of half time were awarded a penalty which they converted.  Half time score Brynamman 3 Ammanford 22.

The second half saw some fantastic defensive tackling from all the Ammanford players as Brynamman dominated this half and penalty after penalty was awrded against Ammanford.  This also saw the introduction of Corey into the pack and quickly saw him leave the field for 10 miutes having not touched the ball.  Brynamman scored a second penalty and this was the only score of the half seeing a final score of Brynamm youth 6 -22 Ammanford youth.
