Llandeilo home

Ammanford made 3 changes for this game and were faced by a much bigger team.  From the kick off the Ammanford back row threw themselves into the tackles stopping the Llandeilo ball carriers on the gain line.  The first half was contested between the two 22 metre areas with no side being able to dominate. As the game went on the yoiung Ammanford team started to gain in confidence and some resolute defence saw Nick Morris and Carwyn Morris in the centre put the Llandeilo backs under pressure, they spilt the ball for Carwyn to gather and run 30 yards for a score under the posts.  Dan Slattery converted for Ammanford to lead 7 - 0.  Ammanford started to gain more ball and the backs statred to fire and put huge pressure on the Llandeilo backs.  Full back Steff Lewis left the fray and was replaced by Joe Parkin. An excellent move by the backs saw wing Levi Gape beat his man and go over for a superb try which was again converted by Slattery.  Half time Ammanford 14 - 0 Lladeilo.

The second half started with Ammanford taking the inititive and putting Lladeilo under continued pressure.  This eventually paid off with Levi Gape again going over in the corner to finish off an excellent move, the conversion wss missed but Ammanford led 19 - 0.  Llandeilo uped the pace of the game and their large forwards started to carry more ball which had an affect on the Ammanford players with the whole bench having to be used.  The replacements came on and carried on in the same vain putting their bodies on the line and making tackle after tackle.  Eventually the pressure told and Llandeilo scored a try close to the posts and converted.  Ammanford refused to be beaten and with the final score of Ammanford 19 -7 winners it was a great performance against a far bigger side.
