Kenfig Hill Away

Ammanford Could not cope with Brian

Kenfig Hill 11 – Ammanford 0

Ammanford travelled to Kenfig Hill for the only game to be played in West Central One. Storm Brian played havoc with the Ammanford game. They stuck to their pick and drive game plan but with a solid Kenfig Hill defence keeping them out and the weather preventing a running game Ammanford did not have a plan B! There was no sign of any form of kicking game.

Ammanford were dominant in the scrum but poor in the lineout. With the weather dominating the only score in the first half was a Kenfig penalty. The second half started well for the home team and on their first visit punched a hole in the defence to score a try, 8-0. On their only other visit inside the visiting 22 they slotted a penalty for the only other score of the game, 11-0. With twenty minutes to go the home side went for passive scrums which blunted Ammanfords main weapon.

Again Ammanford were full of effort but again had little direction and on a day of high winds neither full back faced a high ball which baffled supporters from both sides.  This was a game that should have been won and Ammanford left empty handed and very disappointed.
