Bonymaen Home

Ammanford 7 Bonymaen 8

In a close but rather bland game one special piece of play by the visitors decided the outcome of the game.

Bonymaen, riding high in the league, came to the Rec with the aim of maintaining their second position in the league. The home side put up a good fight in the first half and both sides cancelled each other out and the half time score was 0-3 to the visitors.

Ammanford came out strongly in the second half with their pack taking control of the scrum which eventually led to a penalty try when the visitors dropped the scrum as they were being driven back over the line.

With the game plodding along and only flanker, Tom Davies, showing up with his turn over skills. A long kick down field saw Bonymaen scampering back to gather the ball under their posts. Within 20 seconds after some fine inter passing saw Bonymaen score in the corner with the decisive and final score of the game, 7-8.

Both teams huffed and puffed for the last 15 minutes but neither side looked like scoring and the game finished with the visitors probably just deserving the victory.
